It's not all it's cracked up to be. Learning XHTML and CSS and PHP is a much better route to take, unless you're crunched for time. I don't really know of any tutorials but W3 schools will teach you a lot.

Learn how to do it raw first before you use the program. I never use it, actually. My professor pretty much told us he would fail us if he even suspected we used in an HTML class I took. The point is that you learn every aspect so it is much easier to fix stuff that messes up.

Are there free programs that allow for that? I think Wordpress might...

Haha. No. All you would need is some tutorials on html. Read up on some scripts at:

http://envisageworks.com/website_conten ... /html.html

Memorize the basic tags for <html> such as <center><b><h2>, stuff like that. After you get to know the jist of HTML, go to Dreamweaver. And no, I would not recommend just doing everything through HTML. Dreamweaver incorporates as little code as required, and is a very powerful program.

Oh no it doesn't. It uses a huge amount of worthless code. And make sure you use the CSS stuff because it rocks. You don't have to use color codes or bold codes or anything anymore.

Not any more. Macromedia threw a TON of stuff in there, but CS3 is very very good at limiting code. As I use it on a daily basis, I am blown away by the precision of it.

Once you really know HTML, you should use a program to conserve time. But it is a lot easier to fix stuff that doesn't work when you really know the code.

Anyway, notepad works great for raw, just make sure you save it as a .html and not a text document.

Basically, it's a program that helps you write code by plugging stuff in, etc...

Ahh... I'm just learning the basics of C++ so it'll be a while until I get into it, lol!

Hahaha. Yup. C++ doesn't look too charming at all. But yeah, again, HTML is REALLY easy to learn. Just remember that when you are saving an html document in notepad, that you add a .html to the end of the name. :)

Started Web Design classes with Dreamweaver Tuesday, and today got an 800 page textbook on it, so hopefully I should be up and running with this program in a few weeks!
