Haha. No, I do not beleive this. Fore one, there is no proof, and second, no other Christian I know believes this (non-catholic). If we need to partake in his actual blood and body to get to heaven, and Christians aren't doing this, than any other Christian is going to hell.

I neither believe that you need a priest to forgive sins, I think that Jesus can do that by himself. But we already went over this. :)

But I believe that as long as you are a good person, and honestly try to do the right thing, good things will likely happen to you in the afterlife.

Hmm. Interesting. So do you think that Jesus is the only way? Or doing good things is a way to heaven as well.

I think you do need to believe in a higher power. But you can't just make life easier on yourself by saying, "well, I do 5 good things a week, so I'm going to heaven." I can't make that decision. But I honestly believe that if you follow a religion that allows you to love others, and promotes loving one another and all that good stuff, then you'll have a good chance of a reward in the afterlife.

The Catholic belief includes purgatory, which is cleansing sins, then entering heaven, so I don't see why that can't be applicable to nonbelievers.

It can be applicable to nonbelievers if they beleive. Interesting question. However, the Bible does state very very very clearly that Jesus is the ONLY way. And unless you know that he died on the cross for your sins, you wont get into heaven.

When it boils down to it, nobody ever does anything for anyone else ever. There is always some selfish intent behind every good deed. Either it is that you will get to heaven, or that it will make you look like a good person, or that it purely makes you feel giving, which is a good feeling. And doing things for selfish desires is a sin. So no matter how many good deeds people do, we can never ever ever escape sin, which is why we needed something supernatural, God being our very own sacrifice.

But this poses a very in-depth question that puzzles me sometimes. How come only 40% of the population in the world is Christian, and how can God let the other 60% of people go to hell? And if God created every aspect of Physics, why did he make it so hard to beleive in him? Why did he make life easy enough to where some are more likely to beleive than others?

Very bothersome.... I don't know. You tell me. :)

Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31–46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell

I think this passage does a good job of explaining it. If you have religion, and have given 110% to be the best you can, then you'll get into heaven, but if you're a bad person, hurting others without remorse, then you won't.

True, but knowing God is knowing Jesus, as Jesus is God. So unless you know God, you are not getting into heaven. Therefor, someone who does not acknowledge God, but still does good things, still will not get into heaven, since they are still in sin. The only way out of Sin is through God, so atheists probably need to know God.

For conner's question: God did not make it hard, we did. By creating false beleife for ourself's. I'm not going to point any in spesific. But it can easily be traced back to a wrong choice, Adam for instance, he wanted a son, but did it his own way, creating the enemys of God and the Isrealites, and they may have created gods their own, all because Adam became impatient. So the reason it may be hard to beleive in God is from the choices of man. And I'm sure God is not happy about it, but he knew the outcome of free will. He wanted us to have a choice our own. The other 60% will always have an opertunity, but because of the sins of their father's teaching them the wrong ways, they might not accept it, because God lets punishment travel through family genorations.

This was not the straightest answer I could come up with, but i hope it helps.

If anything is possible, what if God is the same god as in all other monotheistic religions? In that case, Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc are saved.

The only way out of Sin is through God, so atheists probably need to know God.

Yep. If at the end of time they will not or cannot acknowledge that then there is no hope. But as Pirate92 said, everyone will have an opportunity to make the change and believe.

So the verse "For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God" has no meaning? And also "Jesus said: I am the Way the Wruth and the Life, no one comes to the Father accept through Me."

So Catholicism, is changing the Bible like mormans do. Even 2% can change the meaning by 100%...

Just be careful, I want to clear this up: I said they MIGHT be saved, not WILL be saved.

okay so you said that you do not believe that the eucharist is jesus body and blood.
but you believe he rose from the dead, made blind people see, and walked on water.
ok heres my next question: if you believe in all of these other things that are "scientfically impossible" then why do you just randomly stop believing when jesus said the host was his body?

Because he said nothing about it turning into his body once we drank it. He said that the bread he was holding was his body, and it obviously wasn't. He was speaking symbolical. What he meant by taking a part of his body, was that we need to take him in. Like bread, we need him every day to function, he becomes a part of us and our body. His statement wasn't proclaiming that communion actually turns into his flesh. For one, that would be weird, and secondly, there is no point in this. I can see what he meant by us eating his body, but if he was speaking literally, it wouldn't have as much meaning at all.
