Illegal Aliens

Postby vswimsfly on Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:30 am

so i just watched that hilarious 300 parody at the bottom of the home page. and got me thinking...
i want to know what yall think of the illegal alien problem...
for or against a wall?
should they be here or stay out?
why should they leave if all they are doing is working and trying to make a better life for themselves???
thoughts?

That is a very interesting subject. But I think that they should totally stay out. We need to put up a huge wall with spikes and fire and snakes. I respect those who go through the time to get a citizenship, they deserve a reward for their work. But illegals are taking away jobs with cheaper labor, and always tend to be very ruthless.

I think that it's impossible to keep them out, and it's a waste of resources to try. When illegal aliens are identified in the US, they should be forced to go through the process of citizenship while they live here and they should be closely monitored to ensure they are completing everything and paying taxes.

The resources that we aren't wasting by deporting them should be used to ensure business do not hire them illegally.

I don't mind illegal aliens--our country has been full of them since the very beginning. However, I cannot stand people who conform to the aliens such as restaurants and such that post signs in English and Spanish, or aliens that refuse to learn English. After Katrina, we had a huge influx of illegals. We also have a bunch of people who come into Blockbuster all of the time who have to have their kids translate for them. That really angers me because if your kid has been here long enough to speak flawless English, you should be able to have learned enough English to carry on a conversation. They don't feel like they have to conform anymore because America is conforming to them.

We also have a problem with aliens not getting proper documentation because they will be deported. As a result, none of them get car insurance and it screws up the people they get in a car accident with. My brother and a friend of mine have both been hit by aliens and in both cases, the aliens had run away by the time my brother and my friend got out of their cars. I've also gotten backed into by some aliens. Luckily, there was no damage. They looked pretty worried that I would call the cops, but I just told them to be careful and make sure they get insurance.

Anyway, we have the space and we have the jobs for aliens. While it should be policed, once they are in, the best thing to do is make sure they mesh with society, pay taxes, etc... and don't just mooch off of the system. Most of them are very hard working people and given a chance can become productive in society. They are forced to live like criminals once they are here, and as a result, they don't live up their full potential nor do they make attempts to things the proper way.

I think it's because people will take advantage of the system whenever possible, and that can cause a burden on all of us.

I say we line the complete border with landmines and a sign in English and Spanish saying "if you come across this line you may lose more than your leg"

Well, I dont agree with taking a life, but it does send out a pretty powerful statment. And yes, the hardworking illegas should be allowed into the US, but they need to get their citizenship. That is only fair. I DO think that we need to keep them out. They could come into the US if they really wanted to, legally. Illegals shouldn't be here, that is obvious.

That's because people going INTO Mexico aren't usually doing it to build houses...

haha. true that.
i think that if we werent so busy helping iraq and all those other middle eastern countries were at we should try to help mexico. i mean its great that were helping iraq try to set up a government but maybe we should try to concentrate on problems closer to home...

^That's a good point. If we improve the quality of life for countries surrounding us, there wouldn't be such a crowd of people trying to break into our country!
