Monster!

I recorded this in my front yard, the monster and rock are added in using blender 3D. I am using voodoo camera tracker, but does anyone know of a free program (Besides Icarus) that does better?

Voodoo was the only one I knew of for free...It looks pretty good! Just a few motion tracking issues.

Yeah. That is actually very good dude! Very impressed! :)

I tested out boujou, and it actual doesn't work that great at all, so I would just practice maturing voodoo. :D

What? Boujou doesn't work very well? Did you try turning on your computer?

Yeah boujou is pretty muchly the best camera tracker out there if you have the money for it and know how to use it. Syntheyes is a much more affordable alternative though. It offers a full range of geometry tracking tools along with standard manual and auto tracking and at $400 it's a steal. You can download it for free from various torrents (I'm not condoning stealing it but if you want to "try it out" and actually export stuff to see how it lines up in your 3d package or 2d compositor that's an option. Voodoo is very hard to use and get good results. I tried it for one and a half years and did literally over 30 individual tests with it and could never get a pleasing track. I just can't seem to get it to line up right, there aren't enough manual controls and I can't get it to orient itself correctly. Icarus, on the other hand, offers a lot more flexibility, more manual controls, and more options in general. But it being a beta it has a huge amount of bugs that I just can't seem to get through. I would suggest syntheyes if 7you're going to go tracking.
Those who believe it can't be done should not hinder the person doing it.

Still I'd like to stick with the free stuff anyway. My budget for props and cam equip might be a few dollars, but for software my budget is zip.
