For Vegas Video users, do you feel that it is the best?

No, it's good, I've used it, but it's not the best.

Yup

Actually, I think that it is. Now, of course there are programs out there, but I have found that Vegas is the best. I use to use Adobe Premier Pro, and got very good at it. Then I tried out Final Cut, and it was horrible. Then I went to Vegas, and I believe it is much more time efficient and awesome than both of those programs. I haven't used many other programs than that though.

Look at speed edit from newtek, (makers of lightwave 3d) and Avid. Also Final Cut has a load of features most people never use outside of production film that make it way better technically speaking than Vegas. I prefer quick editors such as Vegas to clunky editors such as FCP and Avid though because I don't do much production work. Vegas does have the strongest audio tools out of any video editor I've every seen though. I usually use external audio tools for finalizing but many people find this unnecessary when using Vegas. I've never used speed edit but I've heard rave reviews about it. It seems to be the first editor to truly use the full potential of the computer rather than the old fashioned film cutting method most editors are based on.

I don't know, you could do a Google search, be sure to look for student discounts.

What features are better in Final Cut? I looked into it, and I really think that Vegas can do everything FC can. Especially from using it at school, the editing style is much harder and longer to do.

Exactly what I think! What takes me 2 hours to edit at home takes me at least double the time at school with FCE. The program doesn't even let you scene capture(automatically breaks up each camera cut into separate video clips). Plus on a Mac it takes 3 times as long to export. :x
