Who do u think will win the elections??

Any debates on opposing political sides about the country and the rest of the world.

Compared to the lifestyle of America, some first world countries look "so bad". But Iraq was not as bad off as most think it was.

Human rights abuses and a dictatorship with people being killed off every day...not so bad? It can't get much worse!

Go get a map, close your eyes, and point to a country in Africa. Same thing. Some are even more open about it than Iraq was.

Human rights abuse, while horrible, is not as bad as it gets. We grew up in a society where personal freedoms are paramount and so it is a huge issue for us. But these people are more concerned about feeding their children, and not having their homes raided/destroyed by the Americans on suspicion of terrorism, or the terrorists on suspicion of Western sympathy. Yes, life under Saddam was not life by our standards, but people knew that supporting Hussein would ensure their safety. Now, they fear from both sides.

I'm not supporting Hussein, here. I'm playing a little Devil's Advocate to get vswim to research her ideas and have concrete stances based on fact and not hearsay.

Sorry it took me so long to respond...I didn't see this post.

Why only Iraq? What makes them more deserving of intervention.

At this point I could not tell you, but when you look at some Obama pictures, he looks evil. I am truely scared of this contry's future, and all I can do is hope and pray for the best. I think McCain would be better. If you watch the presidencial debates, you can totaly tell Obama is lieing left and right...

Except he's not, according to fact checkers.

What are fact checkers?
Those who believe it can't be done should not hinder the person doing it.

That was a long time ago and was due to greed. News stations are less likely to post something they know to be false because it takes only a few key strokes for the average Joe six-pack to see that they were wrong.

Indeed! :D After taking a good long hard look at every issue, and taking into account the world's views of both candidates, I voted for the 1st time for Obama. Definitely a change from a few months ago.
